Inside Out (Australia)

Meg Walters

-

How would you describe your art? It’s mainly landscape driven, but from an autobiographical standpoint. Meaning, I paint my own memories of places. This usually ends up being slightly abstracted landscapes with vivid colours and expressive brush marks. My paintings allude to a real place, but they primarily exist within the realm of memory. Where do you find inspiration? Absolutely everywhere: politics, nature, psychology, history, meditation, motherhood, travel, the list could go on forever. The more I fill up my life with experiences, the more inspired I am. While it was limiting, 2020 was really rich with experience and transformation, so there really is never a shortage of ideas if you are open to it. Do you take commissions? When I’m not busy working on an upcoming exhibition, yes! Where can we find your work? I have works available through Otomys Contemporary in Australia and the UK, and Michael Reid Studio Direct in Sydney as well as Michael Reid Berlin. What is the price range for your art? Most pieces are $750–$3000. megwalters.com; @megwaltersworld
