Cassandra Vollmer
How would you describe your art? The easiest way to classify my work is to call it documentary, though there is perhaps more poetry to it. I observe everyday objects, landscapes and architecture. My photographs tend to have an atmosphere of nostalgia and focus on aesthetics. Where do you find inspiration? In the everyday and travelling! My practice and even the way that I title my works are based on locations. The process of titling my images where and when I was at the time of the photograph also allows me to archive my work. I am inspired by other artists as well, and am continuously motivated to create when I see art. There are so many talented people making great work all the time, and I feel that it is important that we, as a country, should spend more time embracing the arts and acknowledging its ability to build a more inclusive and understanding place. What price range do you work in? My limited-edition prints start at $20 (A4 size) and go to $120 (A2). Where can people buy your art? Through my website and Instagram account. cassandravollmerphotography.com; @cassandravollmerphotography
