Inside Sport - - COMEBACKS -

Ahmed Saad should be one of the most respected figures in Australian sport; it has to be much tougher for a Muslim lad to excel at the top level of football when you are fasting during Ramadan. The story Robert Drane told of his rise to the elite ranks of football was very inspiring. But it was also very aggravating to be reminded of his appalling treatment at the hands of ASADA and the AFL, all for drinking a sports drink – as if, with all the things going on in the world of sport and football, this warranted a tough penalty. Instead, he is now always going to be remembered as the player who got rubbed out for a year for “doping” ... Yeah right.
