SYDNEY F C
Sydney FC will be wanting to go one further in the new campaign, being bridesmaids for both sets of silverware last season, with a second-place finish and being outclassed in the grand final. Sydney held onto the likes of Lisa De Vanna, Caitlin Foord and Chloe Logarzo (above) and added further Matildas experience in the returning Alana Kennedy and youngster Amy Sayer.
Despite a spate of players making the switch to crosstown rivals Western Sydney Wanderers, the Sky Blues have kept much of their core together, with the experience of Teresa Polias, Amy Harrison and Elizabeth Ralston, plus youngsters Princess Ibini and Julia Vignes all remaining. In goals, American Aubrey Bledsoe returns from a strong season at Washington Spirit. Further reinforcements have been made with the additions of Sofia Huerta and Danielle Colaprico, both experienced players in the W-League.
With balance across all areas of the field and a mix of youth in an otherwise very experienced side, Sydney FC will be expecting to be more than bridesmaids this season.
