Several years after meeting and falling in love while students at the University of WisconsinMadison, Danielle Rosegarten and Jason Udoff set their sights on a dream wedding in their new locale – New York City. With over 250 loved ones in attendance, the bride and groom still desired to maintain a sense of romance and warmth. “We wanted people to be in the moment and take in all of the beauty and love surrounding them,” shares Danielle. She settled on a timeless design concept for the celebration: all-white flowers and an abundance of greenery. “I wanted the color scheme to remain the same throughout the night, so that everything flowed well together,” she adds.
The bride’s parents, along with an incredible group of wedding professionals, helped bring Danielle’s magical vision to life. “The entire ceremony setup exceeded all of my expectations,” she describes. “My jaw literally dropped when I first saw the room.” The aisle – decorated with florals and candlelight – led the way to an eye-catching chuppah where the couple would take part in treasured traditional Jewish customs. The stunning structure was composed of fresh roses, hydrangeas, orchids, calla lilies, and ferns, complemented with verdure and exposed tree bark.
The sentimental service also featured handwritten vows and a ring exchange that included the bride’s special wedding band. “I lost my grandfather, who I was very close to, about 10 years ago,” confides Danielle. “My mom gave me a gold ring he received for his bar mitzvah; so I asked our jeweler to melt it down and create my wedding band.”
Danielle looked regal in a luxurious strapless trumpet-style ivory gown; her bridesmaids wore long black dresses of their choosing, while Jason and his groomsmen wore smart black tuxedos for the affair. The classic styles resulted in a lovely display of ebony and ivory fashion as the couple and their attendants made their way down the chic black-and-white marble aisle to the beats of various selected songs, including “Love Someone” by Lukas Graham, “Your Song” by Elton John, and “Best Part (featuring H.E.R.)” by Daniel Caesar.
The reception was uniquely gorgeous. Tall trees lined the entire room – and since they were installed that morning, they still had live crickets in them, adding to the enchanting garden ambience. “The nature in the room was absolutely insane!” confirms the bride of the stunning scene. Guest tables were covered in silky linens in either white or a shade of silver and adorned with glistening china chargers and plates, crystal glassware, and Baccarat vases filled with a variety of vanillacolored florals, or whimsical lamps and candlestick holders.
“It’s a surreal feeling knowing that everyone present is there to celebrate your love and is genuinely
happy for you both.”
Attendees enjoyed a sit-down dinner service, and later, rolling carts of specialty sweets, topped off by slices of the couple’s five-tiered wedding confection, which helped fuel them for a full night of dancing to a 16-piece live band. “They were the driving energy throughout the entire party,” the groom says of the entertainment group. “One of my favorite moments was playing the drums with my dad on stage to the song ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ by Guns N’ Roses.”
At midnight, the couple introduced family and friends to the after-party, which was aptly Wisconsin-themed, since it’s where the newlyweds first met (and also where the bride’s parents met in 1986). Of the many treats offered to guests, some crowd favorites were the Spotted Cow beer, yummy cheese curds, and baseball hats with the couple’s personalized take on the historic college tavern Kollege Klub emblem printed on them. “We even had a Badger mascot in attendance!” Jason adds.
“There is absolutely nothing we would do differently; the day was a fairy tale,” confirms Danielle. “It’s a surreal feeling knowing that everyone present is there to celebrate your love and is genuinely happy for you both.”
