MUSICAL talent Farraday Tween, of Currambine, and Calvin Bennett have taken out the WAM Song of the Year Under-14 category for a second year.

The pair, who are the band Farraday’s Cage, heard about their latest win at the awards party last month.

Darlington guitar-playing songwriter Bennett said Tween’s vocals conveyed a smooth and bluesy edge to his latest song, The Fire Inside.

“We were stoked to win the Under-14 award for a second year and to be listed as finalists in the adult ‘blues and roots’ section was real validation of our work,” he said.

“I’m really pleased that the song’s been recognised not once but twice.

“It’s a personal song for me that I wrote and we recorded and mixed in my bedroom, so being nominated is really special.”
