Bank shows com­pas­sion

A JOONDALUP-based char­ity that helps men learn life skills has re­ceived a grant from Bankwest.

North­ern Com­pas­sion runs a res­i­den­tial self­help pro­gram at Tena­cious House that fo­cuses on help­ing men over­come is­sues such as anx­i­ety, ad­dic­tion and de­pres­sion.

The cen­tre re­cently re­ceived $1000 from the bank as part of its easy grant pro­gram.

“As part of our pro­gram, we help men learn life skills, in­clud­ing cook­ing, clean­ing and bud­get­ing,” op­er­a­tions man­ager Mark Brown said.

“We’re so grate­ful for this grant as it’s en­abled us to buy a new wash­ing ma­chine for the cen­tre.”
