Hats off to bowlers

Joondalup Times - - SPORT -

JOONDALUP stunned Bayswater Morley with a brilliant bowling performance, bowling the Bears out for 91 to secure an eight-wicket win on Saturday at Hillcrest Park.

The decision to bowl by Joondalup turned out to be something of a masterstroke as the Centurions’ bowlers came out breathing fire.

Connor Chadwick and Joe Inglis blasted their way through the Bears’ opening line up, combining to take the first five wickets for just 17.

Lane Berry and Ross Loiacono attempted to reconstruct the innings with a fighting 35-run partnership, but Clinton Hinchliffe inserted himself into the match with a brilliant run out, inflicting more pain on the Bears at 6-52.

Berry tried his best for the Bears, but partners came and went with ease as Chadwick continued his dominance with the ball.

Berry was eventually dismissed for 38 as the Bears were bowled out for a disappointing 91 in the 29th over. Chadwick was tremendous with the ball in hand, taking 5-32 from just eight overs.

The Centurions barely raised a sweat when chasing down the Bears’ total.

Clinton Hinchliffe and Jaron Morgan combined for a sensational 64-run third-wicket partnership.
