MEER­ILINGA Fam­ily Cen­tre in High Wycombe has been named a WA fi­nal­ist at this year’s Aus­tralian Early Ed­u­ca­tion and Care Awards.

The cen­tre is amongst four other fi­nal­ists from WA who will now rep­re­sent the state at the na­tional judg­ing in­ter­views in Syd­ney next month.

The state win­ners were se­lected af­ter be­ing re­viewed by the judg­ing panel and demon­strat­ing their achievements in im­prov­ing the well­be­ing of the chil­dren, im­prov­ing the chil­dren’s pro­gram, im­prov­ing the early child­hood ser­vice, on­go­ing pro­fes­sional learn­ing and de­vel­op­ment, and im­prov­ing in­clu­sive in­ter­ac­tions and part­ner­ships with fam­i­lies.

Each of th­ese five key ar­eas are aligned with the Na­tional Qual­ity Stan­dards, which are Fed­eral Govern­ment­man­dated pro­fes­sional stan­dards for chil­dren’s ser­vices and reg­u­lated by Aus­tralian Chil­dren’s Ed­u­ca­tion and Care Author­ity.

The na­tional win­ners will be an­nounced on Fri­day, June 15.
