Thumping win for hungry Gulls
SCARBOROUGH and North Beach were both winners in round 11 of the WA Amateur Football League’s Agrade competition.
The Gulls faced Wanneroo away and led from the start, eventually thumping the Roos 16.16 (112) to 7.3 (45).
Jordan Adamson-Holmes followed up his previous week’s fourgoal haul with seven goals.
North Beach hosted Kingsway in Saturday’s match and overcame a slow start to take the win 13.12 (90) to 11.4 (70).
Kingsway kicked five straight goals to the Tigers’ one goal in the first quarter but the home team managed to claw their way back to be 11 points up at three-quarter time.
Despite some wayward kicking, they piled on another four goals to seal the match.
Scarborough remain one game away from top spot on the ladder, with North Beach a further two games behind in third place .
Scarborough plays Wembley at home this weekend, while North Beach faces ladder leaders Fremantle CBC.
In the Women’s A-grade competition, North Beach won convincingly over Kingsley at home 7.6 (48) to 2.3 (15). Morgan O’Connell kicked three goals in the match and Sarah Coseleto slotted two majors.
