Thump­ing win for hun­gry Gulls

SCAR­BOR­OUGH and North Beach were both win­ners in round 11 of the WA Am­a­teur Foot­ball League’s Agrade com­pe­ti­tion.

The Gulls faced Wan­neroo away and led from the start, even­tu­ally thump­ing the Roos 16.16 (112) to 7.3 (45).

Jor­dan Adam­son-Holmes fol­lowed up his pre­vi­ous week’s four­goal haul with seven goals.

North Beach hosted Kingsway in Sat­ur­day’s match and over­came a slow start to take the win 13.12 (90) to 11.4 (70).

Kingsway kicked five straight goals to the Tigers’ one goal in the first quar­ter but the home team man­aged to claw their way back to be 11 points up at three-quar­ter time.

De­spite some way­ward kick­ing, they piled on an­other four goals to seal the match.

Scar­bor­ough re­main one game away from top spot on the lad­der, with North Beach a fur­ther two games be­hind in third place .

Scar­bor­ough plays Wem­b­ley at home this week­end, while North Beach faces lad­der lead­ers Fre­man­tle CBC.

In the Women’s A-grade com­pe­ti­tion, North Beach won con­vinc­ingly over Kings­ley at home 7.6 (48) to 2.3 (15). Mor­gan O’Connell kicked three goals in the match and Sarah Cose­leto slot­ted two ma­jors.
