Multimillion Dollar Enhancement Announced for Cambridge Reserve
The City of Kalamunda has been working with community and consultants to develop a draft Concept Design for the enhancement of Cambridge Reserve, Forrestfield. Development of the design is now complete and the City is asking for your feedback on the draft.
The multimillion dollar design was developed based on feedback provided by community during consultation undertaken in early 2018. The City requested input from local residents and community members on their vision, values and ideas for the reserve. Over 60 people offered contributions via surveys, submissions and attending community workshops.
Key features of the plan include an enclosed dog exercise area, activity hub, playground, half basketball court, living stream, fenced and re-vegetated bushland, managed parkland as well as improved amenities such as pedestrian paths, seating nodes, lighting, barbeques and more.
The cost of the upgrades will be offset through the sale of sections of the vast reserve. The salable land is suitable for residential, over 55’s and aged care development.
The purpose of the plan is to provide an area that will connect the community, both young and old. The plan is available for comment at engage.kalamunda.wa.gov.au until 14 August 2018.
