Im­pres­sive scor­ing lifts Saints to win

Chloe Zorzi sparked Saints Black’s im­pres­sive win over CBC Red with a game-high of­fen­sive ef­fort in last Satur­day’s round of sec­ond di­vi­sion un­der-12 bas­ket­ball fix­tures.

Chloe fin­ished with 12 points and team­mate So­phie Lan­g­ley scored four as Saints Black held on to win by eight points, 18-10.

CBC Red were kept in it by the shoot­ing of Jay­lani Cooper, Shaleeca Blowes and Te­rina Cham­pion, who com­bined for 10 points.

Also in the grade, CBC Red were un­trou­bled beat­ing CBC Blue, 38-8.

Char­lotte Johnsen starred for the win­ners with 12 points, with three of her team­mates scor­ing six.

Zoe McLough­lan racked up six in a los­ing ef­fort.

The early rounds have been dom- inated by CBC Red, who boast three wins in four games.

CBC Blue, Saints Black and Heat Red are locked on a win apiece.

In un­der-12 first di­vi­sion ac­tion, Saints beat Zaros, 41-23, and Heat won 20-10 against Olympians.
