Get into the Christmas spirit
The festive season will be in full swing this weekend when the annual Esperance Community Christmas Pageant hits the streets tomorrow.
Pageant goers will be treated to a spectacle this year as community groups, service clubs, schools and more make their way down Dempster and Andrew streets from 3.30pm on Sunday.
Santa Claus is expected to make an appearance during the parade and will be available for photos with children after the parade.
Shire of Esperance chief executive Matthew Scott said the annual pageant had a great turn out every year.
“Who doesn’t love a little Christmas pageant?” he said.
“It’s just a happy event for the community to come together and enjoy the festive season,” he said.
“For our farmers who are busy harvesting we hope it gives them a chance to have a break and celebrate.”
The community can enjoy the Museum Village Markets which will run from 8.30am to 12.30pm, then again in the afternoon from 4.30pm to 5.45pm.
Children who have not yet sent Santa their Christmas present wish lists can post a letter at Santa’s Postbox at the Museum Village in the afternoon.
Following the pageant the Lions Club of Esperance will host their Carols by Candlelight event at the Sound Shell from 6pm to 8pm.
