Forum to set project scene for business
It might be several months away, but the Esperance Chamber of Commerce and Industry already has preparations for its 11th annual business and industry forum well under way.
ECCI chief executive Kylie Ryan said the chamber was in the process of confirming sponsors and presenters for Over the Horizon 2019, due to be held on Friday, April 5 at the Esperance Civic Centre.
“We have decided to hold the event on the Friday in the hope that some attendees travelling to Esperance for the event may decide to take up the option to stay and enjoy what our community and region has to offer over the weekend,” she said.
Ms Ryan said the event sought to provide local and regional business and industry owners with an idea of what developments and projects were currently under way or planned for the near future in Esperance and the broader region.
“This will hopefully help busi- nesses and industries to make decisions about whether or not they could benefit from expansion and investment to meet future demands in the community and region,” she said.
“The ECCI would like this year’s forum to be well attended and for presenters to provide information that is topical and relevant for our local and regional businesses and industries.”
Ms Ryan said feedback from previous years had indicated attendees wanted to hear from government ministers.
State ministers Rita Saffioti, Simone McGurk and Labor Member for the Agricultural Region Darren West would be among the presenters at the event.
“The ministers have been asked to share information about Esperance and the south-east coastal region and to provide the opportunity for attendees to ask questions,” she said.
“We hope Over the Horizon will be of great value for those who attend to give them information on future developments in our community and region.”
