Focus on new year pledge at Wellness Expo
Today’s Esperance Wellness Expo will showcase a range of local health and wellbeing services to kickstart people’s new year’s resolutions.
Organised by the Holistic Health and Wellbeing Network in Esperance, people can explore a range of local businesses, practitioners, therapies and natural products available.
The expo will include stalls, demonstrations, presentations and workshops to introduce people to natural and alternative ways of managing their health and wellbeing.
“We have quite a few alternative health businesses in Esperance but not many people know about them,” expo co-ordinator Lesa Blackham said.
“More people are turning to holistic, natural and alternative ways of healing so this was a great way to not only offer practitioners and therapists an opportunity to showcase their services, but also lets people in the community know what is on offer.”
Businesses involved include Twilight Yoga Studio, Creating Calm Esperance, Find Balance, Judy’s F’n V’s with smoothie and healthy food demonstrations, ACMOS Bioenergetics, and many more.
Find Balance business owner Lyn Reid is a nutrition coach, personal trainer and yoga instructor, and said January was the perfect time for people to focus on their health.
“Everyone makes their new year’s resolutions to be healthier after all of that festive food and drink,” she said.
“My motto is to eat healthy and taking a holistic approach of eating properly, exercising and breathing deeply — they go handin-hand.”
Ms Reid will be offering free health assessments and selling her products at the expo.
The Wellness Expo will run from 1.30pm today until 3.30pm at Esperance Scout Hall.
