Veterans rise as favourites as teams chase T20 finals berth
Six teams are chasing a berth in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Cricket Association Twenty20 final at Shepherdson Park today.
Veterans go into the fourth round of the competition as favourites after winning both their games in previous rounds.
Although Kambalda Cricket Club has also won both of their games, Veterans edge them on percentage after scoring 412 runs across two games for the loss of just five wickets.
Veterans have also had just 92 runs scored against them and have bowled out their opposition on both occasions.
Kambalda have scored 324 runs across two games for the loss of nine wickets.
They have also had 257 runs scored against them and have taken 13 wickets.
Veterans’ Jacob Reed tops the batting ladder after scoring 126 not out in his only outing and Golden City’s Scott Smart leads the bowling averages with 3-33, also from one outing.
The fourth round starting at 12.30pm will see Veterans take on fifth-placed Hibernians and Kambalda will square up against bottom-of-the ladder Goldrush.
Third-placed Golden City will face fourth-placed St George at 3.45pm.
The two teams at the top of the ladder after round 4 will play for overall glory in the final at 7pm.
Former Great Boulder player Prashanthon Nagaraja will now be playing for Lake View.
