Vet­er­ans rise as favourites as teams chase T20 fi­nals berth

Six teams are chas­ing a berth in the Kalgoorlie-Boul­der Cricket As­so­ci­a­tion Twenty20 fi­nal at Shep­herd­son Park to­day.

Vet­er­ans go into the fourth round of the com­pe­ti­tion as favourites after win­ning both their games in pre­vi­ous rounds.

Al­though Kam­balda Cricket Club has also won both of their games, Vet­er­ans edge them on per­cent­age after scor­ing 412 runs across two games for the loss of just five wick­ets.

Vet­er­ans have also had just 92 runs scored against them and have bowled out their op­po­si­tion on both oc­ca­sions.

Kam­balda have scored 324 runs across two games for the loss of nine wick­ets.

They have also had 257 runs scored against them and have taken 13 wick­ets.

Vet­er­ans’ Ja­cob Reed tops the bat­ting lad­der after scor­ing 126 not out in his only out­ing and Golden City’s Scott Smart leads the bowl­ing av­er­ages with 3-33, also from one out­ing.

The fourth round start­ing at 12.30pm will see Vet­er­ans take on fifth-placed Hiber­ni­ans and Kam­balda will square up against bot­tom-of-the lad­der Gol­drush.

Third-placed Golden City will face fourth-placed St Ge­orge at 3.45pm.

The two teams at the top of the lad­der after round 4 will play for over­all glory in the fi­nal at 7pm.
