TWO Kwinana siblings have naturally sweetened chocolate advent calendars by creating a book that will count down the 24 days to Christmas

using fruit recipes.

Instead of receiving a chocolate a day, the book, The Fruit Advent Calendar,

will provide a different type of fruit and associated recipe each day in the lead up to Christmas.

Written by 16-year-old Jasmine Nairn and her 14year-old brother Kevin, the book will be the siblings’ first published cookbook.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Smith Family’s literacy programs in Kwinana.

Jasmine said they were expecting between 40 and 60 people to attend the book launch.

“We started this book as a school project and from there it has developed into what it is now,” she said.

The launch is on August 30 from 4.30pm to 6pm at the Darius Wells Library.
