STORY Dogs has reached a new milestone and will soon be helping more than 2000 children with their reading each year. This figure is based on an average of five children reading to each dog and they do this each week for a school year. In the City of Rockingham area, there are 16 volunteers and dogs attending 11 primary schools each week to listen to their young students read story books one at a time. It is the patience and nonjudgemental attitude of the dogs, aided by their owners, that helps the children.
