THE Perth Symphony Orchestra returned to Kwinana on Saturday night to perform the biggest concert Kwinana has ever seen.

The 55-piece orchestra performed the ultimate music experience to an audience of more than 7000 under the stars on Calista Oval.

Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said the City was thrilled to have the worldclass performers back in Kwinana.

“The huge popularity and success of last year’s concert gave us no choice but to ask the Perth Symphony Orchestra to return,” she said.

“We asked them to deliver an even bigger and better concert this year and they certainly didn’t disappoint.” Songs performed included Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, Icehouse’s Great Southern Land, featuring Kwinana alumni Dr Richard Walley on didgeridoo, and a Bee Gees medley that gave the crowd a little Night Fever.

The Tianqi Lithium Symphony Spectacular was a free event made possible thanks to generous sponsors.

At the end of the concert the crowd went wild to the classic 1812 Overture at the Symphony Spectacular.
