Signs of new Baldivis school

A NEW pri­mary school will open in Baldivis in 2021.

Baldivis South Pri­mary School (plan­ning name) will be lo­cated on Nairn Drive.

Con­struc­tion of the $17 mil­lion school is due to be­gin late next year and the school will open in 2021.

The school will ac­com­mo­date up to 430 stu­dents from kinder­garten to Year 6.

Fea­tures in­clude an ad­min­is­tra­tion block, li­brary re­source cen­tre, staff room with a con­fer­ence room, teach­ing area for kinder­garten and pre-pri­mary classes, two gen­eral teach­ing ar­eas, a gen­eral teach­ing area with an art and craft room, cov­ered as­sem­bly area with can­teen and a mu­sic room, hard courts and an oval for sport­ing and out­door ac­tiv­i­ties

Baldivis MLA Reece Whitby wel­comed the State Gov­ern­ment’s com­mit­ment of new schools in Baldivis.

The de­ci­sion comes after an ear­lier an­nounce­ment in Jan­uary that a new pri­mary school would also be built in North Baldivis near Baldivis Road and is due to open in 2020.

A sec­ond State Gov­ern­ment high school, Ridgeview Sec­ondary Col­lege, will open its doors in Baldivis in 2019.
