Not guilty plea over car death
THE woman charged with the murder of Baldivis teenager Jacob Cummins in Canning Vale last year has pleaded not guilty.
Aya Hishmeh (21) also entered pleas of not guilty to four charges of attempted murder in the Supreme Court last week.
Ms Hishmeh sobbed in court as she said “not guilty”.
She was remanded to remain in custody, where she has been since her arrest exactly one year ago.
It has been a year since Jacob died after being hit by a car on Eucalyptus Boulevard in Canning Vale following a fight at a Canning Vale McDonald’s, which continued elsewhere.
Jacob’s friends, Robert Bell, Augustine Janga, Mark Kickett and Anwre Ige, were seriously injured.
Ms Hishmeh’s trial will begin on January 30.
