Po­lice warn farm­ers about se­cu­rity af­ter $15,000 theft

KYABRAM Po­lice are urg­ing farm­ers to be vig­i­lant and en­sure their ma­chin­ery is locked or se­cured af­ter a Lan­caster dairy farmer had $15,000 worth of ma­chin­ery stolen from a Ryans Rd prop­erty.

Po­lice be­lieve two males were dis­turbed at 3.30am on July 19 as they were at­tempt­ing to steal ma­chin­ery and other items from the prop­erty.

One of the of­fend­ers left on a stolen Suzuki quad­bike while the other drove off in a sedan.

Any­one with in­for­ma­tion call Shep­par­ton crim­i­nal in­ves­ti­ga­tion unit on 5820 5777. ■ A 22-year-old drunk driver was un­in­jured af­ter his ve­hi­cle ran off the road and into a table drain at 3.30am on July 22.

The Ir­ish in­ter­na­tional vis­i­tor ac­com­pa­nied po­lice to the Kyabram Po­lice sta­tion where he re­turned a blood al­co­hol con­cen­tra­tion of .151.

He was charged with drink driv­ing and other traf­fic of­fences. ■ PO­LICE are re­mind­ing res­i­dents to re­port any sus­pi­cious ac­tiv­ity they see to Crimestop­pers on 1800 333 000 or the Kyabram Po­lice Sta­tion on 5853 1777. ■ A DOG has been safely re­turned to its own­ers af­ter be­ing trapped in a pipe for 24 hours thanks to the Rochester SES.

The fox ter­rier chased a fox into the drainage pipe in Koyuga and be­came trapped. The an­i­mal’s own­ers at­tempted to free the dog but called the SES at about 10am yes­ter­day morn­ing.
