Buy a bauble to help raise cash
IN THE true spirit of Christmas, Target, Sheridan Partners and UnitingCare Australia are joining together to help improve the lives of thousands of Australians struggling during this festive season.
Funds raised from their annual Christmas appeal will help the UnitingCare Network to support its community services and programs nationwide.
Kyabram residents can contribute by purchasing an appeal bauble for $2, a white Christmas gift box for $3 or giving an unwrapped gift at Kyabram Target on Allan St or Sheridan Partners on Fenaughty St.
Volunteers from the Uniting Care Network will be collecting the donations and then distributing them to people and families in need.
‘‘The team at Uniting is thrilled to play even a small part in such an important community campaign and encourage shoppers to donate as much or as little as they can,’’ Kyabram Uniting volunteer Judith Stone said.
Now in its 27th year, the appeal has been able to provide valuable assistance for hundreds of thousands of families across Australia.
In 2017, the appeal raised $700,000 nationwide from 22,000 donations and that helped support more than 42,000 Australian families.
This year organisers said that they hoped to reach more people who would otherwise be struggling this Christmas thanks to the generous support from around Australia.
The Target Uniting Care Australia Christmas Appeal runs until December 24. ■ For more information on the appeal, and to find out about how you can donate online, you can visit unitingcarechristmasappeal.com.au
