Mural for Bluey
DID you know the world’s oldest dog lived in Rochester?
A while ago mind you but Bluey, a blue heeler, lived to the grand old age for 29 some 80 years ago.
Owned by Les and Esma Hall, Bluey still holds the Guinness world record today as being the world’s oldest dog.
To mark the 80th anniversary in November this year of Bluey’s passing the everactive Rochester Business Network is overseeing a mural project — to take place during the town’s upcoming mural festival — on the pump shed wall at the Rochester Swimming Pool to commemorate Bluey’s feat of longevity.
Donations are now being sought for the mural and they can be made at the Rochester Community Bank or by account transfer. Put your name and Bluey on the reference line.
