KYABRAM businessman Peter Hann had a good weekend.
Well, when a racehorse you have an ownership interest in wins a $2.5 million race you really are justified in declaring it a good weekend.
Peter is one of the owners in the galloper Santa Ana Lane who upstaged his rivals in the Group 1 1200 metres T J Smith stakes at Randwick last Saturday.
Trained by Anthony Freedman, Santa Ana Lane beat a field that had collectively won $32 million. So it was no hack field.
The experts are now claiming Santa Ana Lane is the best sprinter in Australia.
And with a trip to Hong Kong and maybe England — plus the $13 million Everest in Sydney — coming up Santa Ana Lane looks to be in line for more lucrative pay days.
