KYABRAM has been mourning the loss of some much loved and prominent citizens over the past fortnight.

Former popular publican Vin Foley, 86, passed away on March 14.

Vin and his son Steve and family ran the Blue Brick Hotel for a number of years in the late 1970s and 1980s.

He later ran a cafe´ next to the ANZ Bank where Horsfalls Optometris­ts is today.

Bubbly Sue Ewert, who worked at the Kyabram Free Press for 23 years and in recent times with Horsfalls Optometris­ts, also lost her brave battle with cancer.

Former schoolteac­her Phil Downe, 70, a star golfer who won four club championsh­ips at Valley View Golf Club, left us on March 17.

And former Kyabramite Graeme Jackson, 74, was cremated in Gladstone, Queensland on Monday.

A skilled guitarist, he was once a member of the Kyabram country band Home Brew, which featured other foundation members in late Kyabramite­s lead singer John Wakenshaw and Matio Iannacone.
