More rain than usual


After a dry start July has produced above average rainfall.

Kyabram weather station recorded 52.2mm for the month, which has an average of 42.7mm.

Most of the rain has fallen since Wednesday, July 14, with only two days since then not recording any rain at all.

There have been no continuous heavy falls, with 6.6mm on Sunday, July 26, the most rain recorded in a 24-hour period.

The July rainfall took the year’s total to 274.8mm.

Minimum temperatur­es have dipped below zero only once — minus 1.9°C on Thursday, July 8.

And it has been a damp start to August, with 7mm recorded overnight on Saturday into Sunday morning.
