Players warm to winter action

-

Kyabram Croquet Club members have been keeping active over the winter months, playing up to three times a week.

Members even played on one of the coldest mornings recently, surrounded by heavy fog and frost over the courts.

KCC members went to Shepparton’s “Christmas in July” last week to join with players from Benalla, Echuca/moama, Mooroopna and Numurkah, who ventured out in some cold and wet conditions.

Fortunately the Christmas dinner was excellent and so was the fellowship among all the players. A great day, well done Shepparton Croquet.

GVCA Pennant will hopefully start in early September. Only one round of home-and-away matches will be played due to the shorter season. Clubs are awaiting more details.

KCC’S additional session of a “come and play day” on the last Sunday of the month has been worthwhile with several new players joining in with club members for an enjoyable afternoon’s play.

Unfortunately this month‘s play did not go ahead as planned on July 25, due to COVID-19 restrictions.

New players are welcome to come and join us at our Monday and Thursday morning sessions.

Registration is at 9.30am for 10am play. Equipment will be available, but we do ask that players wear covered, flat-soled shoes.

Cost to non-members is $8 per person. For members its $5 per person. Enquires to Margaret on (03) 5853 1362; Sue on 0437 290 777; or email our club at kyabramcroquet@gmail.com
