It wasn’t their day — or trip.
A hunting excursion to Booligal was stopped in its tracks near Wanganella recently when police pulled over a 40-yearold Victorian man and his 17-year-old son.
A search of their car resulted in a host of charges including illegal drugs and firearms offences being meted out.
Charges of breaching the Companion Animal Act were also laid.
Three dogs in cages on the back of the ute were neither registered nor microchipped and were not wearing collars or name tags. An electronic shock collar, prohibited in NSW, was also found.
The males were also breaching COVID19 restrictions and were dealt with by police when they got back to Victoria.
The pair will appear in court in Deniliquin in October.
