Elsie going strong

While it was farewell to Jim Stapleton, another district centenarian was celebrating a notable milestone.

Rochester’s Elsie Wolfe reached the grand of age of 103 on August 11.

Elsie has been in the acute ward at the Rochester Hospital but not for long. She is regaining her strength for a return to independent living at Rochester’s Restdown Village.

Born in Canterbury in 1918, Elsie has been active in the community since moving to the area with her late husband, John, in 1947.
