Echuca was to have been a major benefactor of Melbourne’s COVID-19 lockdown but it has been thwarted by the subsequent regional lockdown.

The town's Paramount Cinema was to stage the world premiere of Streamline —a movie executive-produced by Aussie swimming legend Ian Thorpe — last Sunday night but it had to be cancelled when restrictions extended to regional areas.

Part of the Melbourne International Film Festival, Streamline would have been the first world premiere in the Echuca Paramount Theatre.
