New COVID-19 vax hub

Kyabram District Health Service and Kyabram Community and Learning Centre have announced a new partnership to facilitate the COVID-19 vaccination rollout.

From Monday, September 13, the KDHS vaccination service will be based at KCLC, operating initially Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am to 4.30pm.

The KDHS vaccination clinic is a sub-hub of the Goulburn Valley Health vaccine hub, which is located at the Mcintosh Centre in Shepparton.

KDHS chief executive Anne Mcevoy and KCLC chief executive Jennifer Savage said they were excited the two entities had joined forces to provide an expanded service in Kyabram.

“KDHS values the partnership we have with KCLC and looks forward to delivering this service together,” Ms Mcevoy said.

As the eligibility age groupings for COVID-19 vaccination increase along with the announcement of a reduction in the length of time between Astrazeneca jabs, there has been an increased demand for jabs, according to Ms Mcevoy.

“KCLC values all of our community members and looks forward to the additional freedoms we will experience when we are vaccinated,” Ms Savage said.

KDHS will be utilising multiple pods within allocated rooms in KCLC for the clinic and has been successful in recruiting new and current staff to immuniser, vaccinator and administration roles.

Parking and entry to the clinic will be all-abilities friendly, with access at the rear of the KCLC building (enter via Lake Rd).
