Eggs-ellent result


This is no yolk — some egging on on social media has cleared a glut of eggs from cracking up on Kate Redfearn’s poultry farm at Barham.

With Melbourne and Sydney restaurant­s and cafés reverting to takeaways due to COVID-19 restrictio­ns, the demand for her free-range eggs dropped dramatical­ly but her 4000 chooks didn’t stop laying and at one stage she had a stockpile of 10,000 eggs.

But a plea on social media resulted in the eggs disappeari­ng in a week, for which she was grateful.
