Veterans into grand final
Bendigo-echuca will contest the D-grade grand final of the Victorian Veterans Over 50s competition after a semi-final win at Kyabram Recreation Reserve on Sunday.
The Bendigo-echuca team was a comfortable winner against South East Kangaroos and will now contest the February 20 grand final at
Bendigo against Victorian Cavaliers.
Batting first, South East was in trouble early when its first two wickets were lost with no runs on the board. Things didn’t really improve from there and after 28 overs the South East team found itself all out for 53.
For Bendigo-echuca, Richard
Murphy took 3-9 while Scott Mcleod’s chipped in with 2-5 and Greg Bailey took 2-6.
Bendigo-echuca’s turn to bat resulted in it comfortably making the runs from 14 overs for the loss of just two wickets.
Opener Daryl Rooks remained not out on 25.
