YARROWEYAH

NETBALL

- – DANIEL WEBB

Unfortunately for Yarroweyah netball fans it looks like there will be no A-grade netball side this year.

Coach Rebekah Jones said things were not looking good this season.

“It’s not very good this season, we don’t have many senior girls returning,” Jones said.

“We don’t have the numbers at the moment for an A-grade team. “Everyone’s going away to university and moving away and I think COVID-19 has had a massive, massive part to do with it as well.”

At the time of writing Yarroweyah was offering cash incentives to play, while Jones was unsure if it could field just a B-grade team.

“We’re going to have to sit down as a club because we don’t even know if that’s an option, if the club will allow that,” she said.

Nobody wants to see a club unable to field a side, hopefully the Grasshoppers can rebuild for 2023 and get a competitive squad out on the court.
