VIEWING SHELTER FOR DOVE LAKE
Designs for a viewing shelter overlooking Dove Lake in northern Tasmania, by Cumulus Studio with landscape architecture by Playstreet, have been revealed. The design is part of a proposal by the Tasmanian Government’s Parks and Wildlife Service to replace existing visitor infrastructure at Dove Lake, located within the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. The plans propose a viewing shelter sited to first conceal and then dramatically reveal the view of the lake as visitors approach. The existing car park, toilets and hut are to be removed, with the unused space to be rehabilitated with native vegetation.
