PUBLIC SPACES MINISTER FOR NSW

The NSW Government has announced it will introduce a new ministerial portfolio, the role of which will be to “identify and protect publicly owned land for use as parks and public spaces” and to enhance and expand the state’s parks and open spaces. The government will provide $150 million for improving parklands across urban areas, including converting existing government-owned land into new and upgraded parks and purchasing land for new parks. The announcement comes in the wake of a large-scale “asset recycling” program undertaken by the NSW Government.
