TOWN SQUARE FOR BRISBANE LANE

A formerly derelict space between the western end of Brisbane’s Fish Lane and Melbourne Street will be transformed into a vibrant “town square” under plans submitted to Brisbane City Council. Designed by Richards and Spence, with landscape by RPS Group, the proposed development includes a new urban park and retail, hospitality and gallery spaces. The plans would continue the revitalization of Fish Lane precinct, recently transformed from a neglected backstreet into a bustling laneway. An earlier stage of the renewal designed by RPS Group received an award for urban design at the 2018 National Landscape Architecture Awards.
