ASPECT DESIGNS PARK IN VIETNAM
Aspect Studios and Laboratory for Visionary Architecture (LAVA) have jointly won an international design competition for the major redevelopment of a public park in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The project will accompany the Ben Thanh underground railway station being built as part of the city’s new metro network. The park design features sunken plazas, artificial trees that collect rainwater and generate solar power, and a curvaceous walkway plan inspired by the site’s history as a colonial-era railway station built in the nineteenth century. Construction on the park is due to begin next year.
