Richard Weller is exhibiting in the “As One Planet” section of the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale. Weller is professor and chair of the landscape architecture department at the University of Pennsylvania. His biennale installation presents The Hotspot Cities Project, which pinpoints places where urbanization conflicts with biodiversity hotspots; the World Park, a global network of territories protecting endangered species; and Not the Blue Marble, a re-imagined view of the earth seen by the Apollo 11 astronauts in the wake of environmental collapse.
