FUTURE LANDSCAPES WINNERS
The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects announced Silicon Gulf: Transition from contaminated post-industrial land
to regenerative data centre park by Zhuocheng (Jackie) Gu as the winner of the Future Landscapes competition held as part of the 2021 Festival of Landscape Architecture. The proposal explores a renewable energy future for Port Augusta, South Australia that grapples with the toxic legacy of the site’s history of coal-based energy production. Projects by Wenxuan Zhang, Xiaohan Wang and Zhuoer Tang; Harry Lawson, Rosalie Brooker and Georgia Hopkins; and Qian Li, Jiayu Qiao and Yuye Zhen were announced as runners-up.
