MORE GREEN BRIDGES FOR BRISBANE

Brisbane City Council has released concept designs for two green bridges, linking West End with St Lucia and Toowong, which are being built to make it easier to walk and cycle around the city. The concept designs are quite different: one depicts a bridge with a single 75-metre mast while the other shows a structure with four gently inclined masts and a spiralling ramp at the landing. The designs were prepared by engineering firm GHD with architecture practice GHD Woodhead, landscape architecture practice Lat 27, Wilkinson Eyre (specialist bridge architect) and Cowi (specialist bridge engineer).
