Jury comment

Archerfield Park lives up to the overarching aim of its landscape design as a “community shaped by nature.” Surrounded by residential development, this is a special park with a real point of difference and a direct connection with a walking and cycling trail. It has a distinctive aesthetic and uses contemporary design language and natural materials to provide a range of opportunities for exploratory play, health and fitness, and nature escape for community members of all ages. It is a gathering place for picnics, pump track adventures and bushland contemplation. The versatility of the spaces demonstrates the design’s creativity; for example, a beautiful white hit-up wall at the multi-court play space also serves as a screen for outdoor cinema.
