Accessible communal barbecue cabinets

With Christie’s Australian barbecues, cooking and sharing food outdoors is easier than ever.

-

Christie manufactures the original Australian barbecue, designed explicitly for cooking in shared public spaces. The company’s fixed electric grills offer a safe, sustainable alternative to open fires and disposable barbecue options.

The experience of cooking and sharing food brings communities together and promotes healthy outdoor living. Since 1965, more than 50,000 of Christie’s durable, energy-efficient grills have been installed worldwide in parks and urban environments.

Christie is a leader in barbecue technology and design innovation. Its ICON cabinet’s DDA-compliant design provides universal access, enabling seated and standing users to use the cooktop. The versatile design meets high regulatory standards for sustainability, inclusivity, and occupational health and safety. Further, the product itself is made of highly recyclable materials.

ICON was awarded a prestigious Good

Design Award for its outstanding design and innovation. The sleek shark-nosed benchtop offers exceptionally generous food preparation space, while the cooktops are versatile and can be oriented in opposing directions, allowing users to maintain an appropriate distance when sharing the facility.

Communal barbecues are increasingly installed on rooftops and in other urban locations. All Christie barbecue cabinets are shipped flat-packed, lowering the overall carbon footprint while providing easy site access and saving transportation and offloading costs.
