Dance Academy: The Movie

THIS movie follows the original Dance Academy TV show and tracks where the characters are in their lives after graduation. While it’s made squarely with the show’s fans in mind, there are plenty of overarching themes about entering young adulthood others will be able to relate to. ◗ Stars: Miranda Otto, Xenia Goodwin, Keiynan Lonsdale.

◗ Rating: PG ◗ In cinemas: Thursday.

THIS big-screen adaptation of the ’70s TV series follows the adventures of two California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers as they make their rounds on the freeways of Los Angeles. Fans of the original may not be impressed by this remake’s heavy reliance on lowbrow gags. ◗ Stars: Michael Pena, Dax Shepard, Jessica McNamee. ◗ Rating: MA 15+ ◗ In cinemas: Thursday.
