Chefs swap their aprons for boardshorts
It is a hugely popular and anticipated event with its long history, professionalism, range of guest chefs
WATCH one of very own Weekend chefs, Peter Kuruvita, battle it out with other chefs on the waves during the Noosa Food and Wine Festival.
Kuruvita (pictured during last year’s competition), who has attended many of the festivals since 2008, will hit the surf at Sunshine Beach tomorrow morning.
If you are feeling a little peckish, a casual beachfront breakfast hosted by Ben O’Donoghue is also on offer.
The chefs’ surfing competition begins at 7am and breakfast is at 8am.
Kuruvita and Noosa Beach House will also bring international favours to the table during the legendary Long Table Lunch in Hastings St, an event that is a definite crowd favourite.
The lunch features a three-course menu that celebrates dishes from international destinations.
Kuruvita said he was looking forward to many of the events during the weekend, as well as competing in the surfing competition and hanging out with his chef mates.
“It is a hugely popular and anticipated event with its long history, professionalism, range of guest chefs and over 70 events,” he said.
“And of course it’s all set on the most beautiful beach and surrounds.”
Other chefs attending the festival include Luke Mangan, Alastair Mcleod and Noosa favourite Matt Golinski.
