All that glitters

Say goodbye to boring neutrals and hello to bright metallics

Life & Style Weekend - - CLOSET - with Natalie Tink

I F YOU were to add a catchphrase to my personality it would be “easily distracted by shiny things’’. I can’t get enough of sparkly metallics and it seems I’m not the only one. Metallic shades are back in a big way and without a pair of MC Hammer pants in sight. If thinking about metallics takes you back to the ’80s and ’90s, never fear my friends – metallic shades are not what they once were. Now they bring with them a stylish twist to your current wardrobe and the best part is they match everything. Jeans, white tee, silver flats and you are good to go from lunch to dinner. LBD with rose gold statement earrings and you’re one fierce lady. Simple single pieces of metallics can transform a look without having to buy a whole new outfit. In 2017, it’s all about the shine. Whether it be in your wardrobe or home, we are quickly saying goodbye to boring neutrals and hello to bright bold metallics. This week I searched for the best of the best in metallics. Adding a little shine to footwear is the Frankie 4, super cute and super comfy Jenni sneakers in Tin Gold. Perfect for busy gals on the go. Also while on footwear, I found myself in flat-shoe nirvana with these gorgeous sparkly kicks from Avarcas Australia. Made from leather, they are very easy to wear and the perfect weekender. So versatile, perfect with jeans or a maxi dress. Everywhere I wore these I was pinned down by strangers wondering where I bought them. Chic shades from Oroton have quickly become my faves. Stunning rose gold finish with my all-time favourite mirrored lens. One cannot go past a fabulous metallic clutch in gold or silver from Miss Monogram. A must-have item for events season and there’s nothing quite as stylish as wearing your own personal brand. We can’t leave out the bling bling, and these stunning Addison earrings from Empress Collections are an absolute steal and the perfect addition to a date night. And one of my new finds I could not forget to mention is my Tangle Teezer from Evalyn Parsons Hair Salon. I don’t think my mane has ever felt so loved since I discovered a kinder way to brush – and the fact that it is bright gold was just the icing on the cake.
