The first Wish­list Teddy Bears’ Pic­nic hap­pened on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 29 at Cot­ton Tree Park. The event was de­signed to raise much-needed funds for de­men­tia pa­tients at Nam­bour Hos­pi­tal. Those who at­tended en­joyed an in­ter­ac­tive pup­pet show, a jazz and blues band, Billy’s Bud­dies demon­stra­tion, jump­ing cas­tle, sto­ry­telling, face-paint­ing, pony rides, rov­ing en­ter­tain­ers, chil­dren’s yoga, rep­tile en­coun­ters, food stalls, a Teddy Bear Hos­pi­tal and more. Wish­list CEO Lisa Rowe said the event will raise funds for a De­men­tia Gar­den in­clud­ing the in­stal­la­tion of fit­tings, fur­nish­ings and equip­ment at the new Acute and Restora­tive Care Unit at Nam­bour Hos­pi­tal.
