NAMBOUR COMMUNITY CAROLS
December 9 Time: 3–8.15pm Where: Nambour Showgrounds, Nambour. Wrap up a new present and place it under the community Christmas tree to make this Christmas one to remember for our local kids in need. The Nambour Community Carols are once again partnering with Christmas Care and SunnyKids to distribute Christmas presents to local children. Grab some Christmas present for your family and friends at the twilight Christmas markets. There will be 40-plus stalls offering all kinds of gift options for all ages. Keep the little ones busy with free kids’ entertainment including rides, an animal farm, face painting, animal balloons, jumping castles and more. Fuel up at the food court offering a great range of food stalls to pick from. The hard part will be deciding what to eat. The carols concert kicks off at 6pm featuring local artists and a special visit from Santa and his friend Joy Bells. The grand fireworks finale and everyone’s favourite goes off at 8pm.

The rock ‘n’ roll road to stardom is a dangerous road indeed littered with the corpses of starry eyed hopefuls, wannabes, one hit wonders and jagged “if onlys”. While many bands self-implode before they even leave the garage, few survive… One of these survivors is Australian band The Radiators. The band made its debut in September 1978, but little did they know they would go on to forge a unique sound and influence thousands of teenagers throughout Australia. Catch the legends perform at Caloundra next weekend. It will be a standing gig so get your best moves ready. Local band The Cumquats are playing as the opening support and tickets are $25. MOOLOOLABA CHRISTMAS BOAT PARADE
December 16 Time: 6.30pm Where: Mooloolaba River The Mooloolah River is set to once again light up for 14th annual Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade organised by Mooloolaba Yacht Club. The best spots for spectators to gather include The Wharf, La Balsa Park and all the other vantage points with views along the river. During the parade, The Wharf Mooloolaba will be hosting a special outdoor broadcast with Mix FM’s Todd and Sami, including great competitions for listeners. There will be loads of other competitions including Best Dressed, Best Dressed Boat, Best New Entry, Brightest Boat, Best Dressed Kids, and trophies for the Best Decorated Houses and Units.
