In­dus­try lead­ing ex­perts have re­cently pre­dicted the Sun­shine Coast is fast be­com­ing Aus­tralia’s next prop­erty hotspot. Join in a spe­cial up­date from Mal Cay­ley, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor of In­vestor Prop­erty Group who will share his ex­pert in­sights to the fu­ture of the re­gion and key drivers in­flu­enc­ing its growth. Mal Cay­ley pos­sesses a unique set of skills and ex­pe­ri­ence that helps to see be­yond the stats; from Aus­tralian De­fence In­tel­li­gence spe­cial­ist, to prop­erty in­vest­ment au­thor­ity. NAMBOUR COM­MU­NITY CAR­OLS

December 9 Time: 3–8.15pm Where: Nambour Show­grounds, Nambour. Wrap up a new present and place it un­der the com­mu­nity Christ­mas tree to make this Christ­mas one to re­mem­ber for our lo­cal kids in need. The Nambour Com­mu­nity Car­ols are once again part­ner­ing with Christ­mas Care and Sun­nyKids to dis­trib­ute Christ­mas presents to lo­cal chil­dren. Grab some Christ­mas present for your fam­ily and friends at the twi­light Christ­mas mar­kets. There will be 40-plus stalls of­fer­ing all kinds of gift op­tions for all ages. Keep the lit­tle ones busy with free kids’ en­ter­tain­ment in­clud­ing rides, an an­i­mal farm, face paint­ing, an­i­mal bal­loons, jump­ing cas­tles and more. Fuel up at the food court of­fer­ing a great range of food stalls to pick from. The hard part will be de­cid­ing what to eat. The car­ols con­cert kicks off at 6pm fea­tur­ing lo­cal artists and a spe­cial visit from Santa and his friend Joy Bells. The grand fire­works fi­nale and ev­ery­one’s favourite goes off at 8pm.

THE RA­DI­A­TORS

December 9 Time: Doors open 7.30pm Where: The Caloun­dra RSL Func­tion Room. The rock ‘n’ roll road to star­dom is a dan­ger­ous road in­deed lit­tered with the corpses of starry eyed hope­fuls, wannabes, one hit won­ders and jagged “if onlys”. While many bands self-im­plode be­fore they even leave the garage, few sur­vive… One of these sur­vivors is Aus­tralian band The Ra­di­a­tors. The band made its de­but in Septem­ber 1978, but lit­tle did they know they would go on to forge a unique sound and in­flu­ence thou­sands of teenagers through­out Aus­tralia. Catch the le­gends per­form at Caloun­dra next week­end. It will be a stand­ing gig so get your best moves ready. Lo­cal band The Cumquats are play­ing as the open­ing sup­port and tick­ets are $25. MOOLOOLABA CHRIST­MAS BOAT PA­RADE

December 16 Time: 6.30pm Where: Mooloolaba River The Mooloolah River is set to once again light up for 14th an­nual Mooloolaba Christ­mas Boat Pa­rade or­gan­ised by Mooloolaba Yacht Club. The best spots for spec­ta­tors to gather in­clude The Wharf, La Balsa Park and all the other van­tage points with views along the river. Dur­ing the pa­rade, The Wharf Mooloolaba will be host­ing a spe­cial out­door broad­cast with Mix FM’s Todd and Sami, in­clud­ing great com­pe­ti­tions for lis­ten­ers. There will be loads of other com­pe­ti­tions in­clud­ing Best Dressed, Best Dressed Boat, Best New En­try, Bright­est Boat, Best Dressed Kids, and tro­phies for the Best Dec­o­rated Houses and Units. December 22 Time: Pre-show fes­tiv­i­ties start 6pm, movie starts 7pm Where: Birch Car­roll and Coyle Ma­roochy­dore, Sun­shine Plaza, Ma­roochy­dore. Pitch-mass is quickly ap­proach­ing, so grab your bel­las for a pitchin’ night out be­fore Santa ar­rives at the spe­cial Chicks at the Flicks Ad­vance Screen­ing of Pitch Per­fect 3. Don’t miss the Bel­las re­unite for one last singing com­pe­ti­tion at an over­seas USO tour, but face a new ri­val group who uses both in­stru­ments and voices.
