Life & Style Weekend - - CLOSET - WORDS: TAM WRIGLEY

We monogram our cars with personalised plates. We monogram towels with our initials. Heck, we even monogram our bodies in the form of tattoos. So why not take things to the next level and monogram and personalise our fashion accessories, too? With iphone covers, keyrings, passportholders, debit/credit cardholders, handbags, clutches and so much more, the new trend in fashion accessories is monogramming. And the Sunshine Coast is in for a real treat as Miss Monogram launches at Sunshine Plaza, just in time for Christmas. Founder, owners and husband-and-wife team Nat and Brad Tink left the print media industry after 20 solid years and started a business from scratch. This time two years ago, Miss Monogram was launched on the Sunshine Coast. It was a start-up company making its way in a tough financial market but it has broken through to become hugely successful nationwide. At a time when many small businesses struggled and in some cases closed their doors, Nat and Brad defied the odds, powered through and bound together to make Miss Monogram the success it is today. Like many business start-ups, it operated from the garage of Nat and Brad’s home. Brad transformed the garage into a company paradise with pink walls, workstations, stock-control areas and a picture wall. Fast-forward 12 months and now Miss Monogram has a prime position in the Plaza, opening on November 24. There are clutches in a rainbow of colours which you can monogram with your name, initials and even emojis in colours such as silver, rose gold, pink and gold in several different fonts. There are keyrings to monogram, passport-holders, credit/debit cardholders, compendiums, iphone and Samsung phone cases, handbags, men’s collections, coin purses and even bridal sets. It is the new trend sweeping the nation with corporates, brides, fashionistas, men and women all lining up to get their hands on their personalised items. The launch of the store, in true Miss Monogram style, is going to be big. Brisbane DJ Gram will be in store, spinning tunes from 10am to 1pm. The first 50 customers to spend more than $50 will receive a free Miss Lexie monogrammed keyring, and the first 100 customers will receive a free pack of inspo pencils. There will be heaps of promotions, giveaways and surprises on the day. But, the grand opening fun doesn’t just stop there. Each Thursday night in the lead-up to Christmas, there will be guest appearances in store from bloggers, celebrities, and influencers. You can meet your favourite celebrities in store for a selfie and chat. Miss Monogram’s motto is “we make gift giving easy”. So if you have someone who is hard to by for, come to the new store. Staff will make buying the ideal gift easy and they’ll even wrap it, too. Miss Monogram will be located on the ground floor, directly opposite the Myer entrance, behind the café. You can’t miss it. To catch more of Tam: Follow @istyletv & @thewineoclockshow on Instagram and Facebook. Watch and subscribe - The Wine O’clock Show on the istyle TV Youtube channel
